Surface-enhanced Raman scattering has attracted a lot of attention as a very effective analytical method in the field of biosensors. The method makes use of the enhanced signal produced by the use of nanostructured metal surfaces in combination with Raman spectroscopy 's exceptional sensitivity, making it possible to identify and characterize molecules at very low concentrations. The substantial potential for several applications in the areas of biological diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and food safety is shown by the noteworthy sensitivity, capability of multiplexing, and capacity for label -free detection. This review focuses on analyzing recent advances in innovative methodologies. SERS-based biosensors have the potential to radically alter a variety of fields of scientific study and practical applications. These tools are capable of identifying biomarkers, viruses, neurotransmitters, illness diagnostics, and environmental science with speed and accuracy. In addition, surfaceenhanced Raman scattering 's production mechanism and future growth possibilities merit attention for potential applications.
