Nowadays, extensive use of fossil fuels pollutes environment and causes energy losses, posing serious global concern. To address these problems, substitute resources and energy-storage mechanisms like supercapacitors (SCs) are in high require. Several spinels have been used as electrode materials in SCs; nevertheless, their efficiency is limited by minimal conductivity and minimal cyclic stability. To overcome these limitations, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was introduced to enhance electrochemical properties of spinel. SnFe2O4/rGO nanohybrid electrodes were fabricated through hydrothermal route and analyzed by various structural analyses. The nanohybrid exhibited a unique nanostructure, improved surface area (SA), conductivity, and crystallinity. The SnFe2O4/rGO nanohybrid showed greater surface area than than SnFe2O4 determined by BET analysis. SEM images confirmed firm anchoring of SnFe2O4 on rGO. The electrode displayed high specific capacitance (Cs) of 1385 F g-1 at 1 A g-1 as well as low charge transfer resistance (Rct) of 1.6 Omega, maintaining stability over 3500 cycles. This study showed that remarkable and excellent features of SnFe2O4/rGO nanohybrid make it appropriate selection for use in next generation supercapacitor applications.
