아돌프 로스 라움플란의 공간 분화 특성에 관한 연구
초록
Adolf Loos (1870-1933)'s Raumplan spatial composition is characterized by interrelationship without being constrained by each other. This study aims to understand the architectural characteristics of Raumplan by examining the spatial differentiation of Raumplan. This study is conducted on 8 Raumplan works after 1910. Our study on spatial characteristics of Raumplan begins by dividing the floor plan of the works according to its importance. In other words, it starts with the division between important spaces, such as living rooms, and less important spaces such as the ones adjacent to the living room. The divisions made both horizontally and vertically. Horizontal division means the division using level difference, and vertical division means the division using incision walls. The vertical division of the Raumplan architecture induces the direction of human gaze, and the horizontal division, that is, the step, naturally determines the hierarchy of the space. The living rooms and the surrounding spaces are naturally connected by the movement and gaze of the occupants. Separation of space according to the split level, that is, the step gives independence of each space, various circulation patterns remove the concentration of a specific space, and the setting of a space contract ensures spatial and visual continuity while having the effect of natural space expansion. Raumplan's spatial division acts as a humanistic paradigm for the realization of residential space, and such spatial division continues to be observed in modern houses.
