경제투표 하위차원의 상호작용 : 5-7회 지방선거의 사례

초록

This article examines how sub-dimensions of economic voting affect on the incumbent support in local elections. Existing studies on economic voting mainly focused on the independent effect of three economic vote dimension; valence economic voting, positional economic voting and patrimonial economic voting. This paper identifies the interplay of above three economic vote dimensions in previous 5-7th local elections. Our empirical results show that not only independent effects of three dimensions but also interaction effects of each other. Furthermore, we also suggested ‘voter’s perception of inequality’ as a proxy of valence economic voting. In the 7th local election, the perception of inequality as a new measure of valence voting was interacted with other sub-dimensions of economic voting.
