Physiochemical and electrochemical investigation of SmNdO3/rGO electrode material for supercapacitors

Growing reliance on renewable energy has created an urgent need for effective energy generation and storage systems. In recent years, metal-based supercapacitor (SCs) electrode have gained considerable attention owing to elevated energy storing performance. The fabrication of SmNdO3/rGO electrode materials demonstrates high suitability for energy storage applications. This work employs hydrothermal technique to synthesize SmNdO3/ rGO for supercapacitor application. Electrochemical outcomes displays that the integration of rGO extends the discharging time and increases the specific capacitance (Csp), thereby improving the performance of SmNdO3/ rGO. SmNdO3/rGO exhibited an enhanced Csp reaching 486.96 F/g at 1 A/g and the longest stability (77.58% retention over the 7000th cycle). Also, achieved an energy density (Ed) of 16.62 Wh/kg at 1 A/g. SmNdO3/rGO exhibits a lower solution resistance (Rs) of (0.75 Omega) and better ionic conductivity compared to pure SmNdO3 (0.87 Omega). The composite demonstrated excellent cyclic stability over the 7000th cycle in 3.0 M KOH. These findings suggest rare-earth based nanocomposites possess significant potential as electrode materials for SCs and other advanced storage systems.
