위염 세포 모델에서의 소화기계 다빈도 8종 처방의 항염증효과 비교연구

Objectives : There are many herbal decoctions used for treating gastritis, but studies which compare their anti-inflammatory effects on gastritis are scarce. It also applies even in the case of the Korean medical insurance medicines. In the present study, we have compared the anti-inflammatory effects of 8 herbal decoctions which are Korean medical insurance medicines frequently used for digestive disorders. Methods : To compare the anti-inflammatory effect of 8 frequently used herbal decoctions, we examined the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-8, on MKN-45 cells activated by Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Results : 7 herbal decoctions inhibited the expression of IL-6 increased by TNF-α in order of Naeso-san (NSS), Pyeongwi-san (PWS), Banhasasim-tang (BST), Shihosogan-tang (SST), Ojeok-san (OJS), Hyangsapyeongwi-san (HPS), Bojungikgi-tang (BIT) and showed decreasing trends of IL-8 expression in order of SST, NSS, PWS, OJS, BIT, HPS, BST, although the reduction was not statistically significant. Conclusions : These results suggest that herbal decoctions for digestive disorders can suppress gastric inflammation by regulating expression of IL-6 and IL-8 and that the anti-inflammatory effect of herbal decoctions on TNF-α-activated MKN-45 cells is larger in order of SST, NSS, PWS, OJS, BST, HPS, BIT.
