NiCo2Se4@Co3O4/rGO based highly sensitive electrode with high energy and power densities for BHS energy storage and integrated acetylcholine detection systems

This comprehensive applied study presents the novel NiCo2Se4@Co3O4/rGO nanocomposite for battery-hybrid supercapacitor (BHS) energy storage and electrochemical acetylcholine detection system. The NiCo2Se4@Co3O4/rGO electrode have the highest specific capacity (Qs) of 1125C/g. The NiCo2Se4@Co3O4/rGO// AC cell system offers the highest Qs of 256C/g with 90% capacity retention and 94% columbic efficiency. The highest values of energy and power densities (Ed and Pd) are 37 Whkg(-1) at 2254 W/kg. The ACh analysis response of the NiCo2Se4@Co3O4/rGO electrode-based device is highly selective, stable, and resilient over 10,000 cycles range. The device responds to 1 nm to 850 mu m ACh concentration range for linear operation. Also, the device has a selective response in the presence of other interferents. The device carrying the combined electrochemical advantages of NiCo2Se4@Co3O4/rGO hybrid material finds its potential applications in neurological diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring by ACh sensing, and also in next-level energy devices.
