야간관광 특화도시 조성사업이 야간관광수요에 미친 효과 분석: 인천광역시를 대상으로

초록

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the effects of the night tourism specialized city development project on night tourism demand. Specifically, this study estimates the causal impact of the project on visitor inflow and regional economic vitality in the case of Incheon Metropolitan City. Design, data, and methodology – This study is designed to estimate the causal effects of the night tourism specialized city development project on night tourism demand. Data were collected night tourism visitor statistics and consumption expenditure data of Incheon Metropolitan City, and the Synthetic Control Method (SCM) was employed to compare post-intervention outcomes with a synthetic counter-factual. Result –The findings show that the night tourism specialized city development project significantly increased both nighttime visitor numbers and consumption expenditure in Incheon compared to the synthetic counter-factual. Conclusions – This study provides empirical evidence for the effectiveness of the night tourism in driving tourism demand. It offers practical implications for policy-makers, suggesting that the night tourism program is a viable strategy for regional economic vitalization and justifying the expansion of government-led night tourism initiatives.
