초록
Global warming has heightened the need for carbon neutrality, with the building sector, accounting for 30% of global energy consumption and 26% of carbon emissions, playing a pivotal role. This study analyzes the impacts of climate change on heating and cooling loads using SRES A2 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios for Seoul (Cwa) and Ulsan (Cfa) in 2050 and 2080. Future weather files were generated using CCWorldWeatherGen and Future Weather Generator with the Morphing technique, and simulations were conducted on reference building proposed by Department of Energy using EnergyPlus. Results demonstrate that SSP5-8.5 led to higher increases in outdoor temperature and humidity compared to SRES A2, causing greater cooling load increases (up to 51.32% in Seoul and 52.36% in Ulsan by 2080) and heating load reductions (33.12% in Seoul and 30.56% in Ulsan). Regional differences revealed that Ulsan experienced more significant load changes due to higher humidity and coastal climate characteristics. This study highlights the importance of region-specific energy strategies and climate adaptation measures, especially in coastal areas where cooling energy demand is projected to rise. The findings provide a basis for developing sustainable building designs and policies to mitigate climate impacts and achieve carbon neutrality.
