Environmental issues such as global warming and exhaustion of traditional organic sources have driven the urgent need for renewable energy systems. Hydrogen (H2) is a clean, safe and environmentally advantageous alternative to conventional fossil fuels. This research presents hydrothermal synthesis of PANI-based NdCoO3 composite, demonstrating effective hydrogen production via hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Various physical characterization methods were employed to evaluate morphology, thermal stability, surface area and structure of prepared nanocomposite. The electrochemical efficacy of NdCoO3/PANI was assessed in 1.0 M KOH, focusing on its reaction kinetics, active sites, electronic conductivity and catalytic activity. The electrochemical findings indicated that NdCoO3/PANI composite presents overpotential (eta) of -113 mV at a current density (j) of -10 mA/cm2. Furthermore, composite exhibits low Tafel gradient (73 mV/dec), reduced solution resistance (Rs) 0.67 Omega and exceptional endurance for 50 h, indicating improved HER efficiency. The results confirm that NdCoO3/PANI composite functions as an economical, robust and highly efficient electroactive catalyst, exhibiting considerable promise for sustainable and viable H2 production in alkaline water-oxidation systems. The improved performance of NdCoO3/PANI positions it as a viable composite for prospective uses in electrical and various energy conversion fields.
