초록
This study examines the relationship between general health promotion behaviors and oral health promotion behaviors in middleaged adults with the aim of developing effective programs. A survey of 251 gym members in Seoul revealed that many did not undergo regular health check-ups, though most exercised regularly and more than half were non-smokers. Younger respondents were less likely to undergo regular dental check-ups compared to older groups. The 50s age group exhibited high levels of both general health and oral health promotion behaviors, while the 60s age group demonstrated significantly lower levels of oral health promotion behaviors. A positive relationship was observed between general health promotion behaviors and oral health promotion behaviors, particularly in the 30s and 60s. Key variables affecting oral health promotion included smoking habits, weight maintenance, and dietary fiber intake. These findings underscore the necessity for integrated health promotion programs that address both general and oral health, particularly for middle-aged adults. They also highlight the importance of ongoing research and policy efforts to improve oral health across all age groups.
