초록

Tungsten oxide (WO3) is an attractive light-driven photocatalyst, becoming a hot spot in the field of photocatalysis due to its narrow band gap, good crystallinity, and easy synthesis process. In this work, pure and (3, 5, and 7 wt%) Ni-doped WO3 nanoparticles (Ni:WO3 NPs) were prepared for dual uses in photocatalytic activity and antibacterial pathogenies. The tetragonal crystalline phase was verified by XRD analysis. A round spongy-like morphological structure was seen by SEM and TEM. XPS confirmed the presence of major elements W, Ni, and O, which was supported by FTIR spectroscopy. The band gap of nanoparticles was measured by UV-Visible analysis and the value decreased as the quantity of nickel dopant increased. When exposed to visible light, the Ni: WO3 NPs degraded MB dye by 96.9 % within 120 min, and 7 wt% Ni:WO3 NPs attained its peak photocatalytic performance. Furthermore, at a higher dosage of 100 mu g/mL, the Ni:WO3 NPs (7 wt%) exhibited antibacterial activity against P. Vulgaris with a zone of inhibition value is 18 mm. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of Ni:WO3 NPs for photocatalytic and antibacterial applications, especially at high levels of nickel dopant.
