Developing and assessing Cu2MgO3/PANI composite as an effective supercapacitor electrode material

Supercapacitors have acquired interest as energy storing devices because of their long-term stability, easy operation, fast charging/discharging rate, and high-power density. Here, we synthesized novel composite electrode material (Cu2MgO3/PANI) via hydrothermal method. Under 1 A/g, power density and specific capacitance (C-s) of Cu2MgO3/PANI are 649 F/g and 208 W/kg, accordingly. The higher specific surface area (SSA) and conductive polymer network of PANI are beneficial to promote electrical conductivity and ion migration in the Cu2MgO3 matrix. This enhancement, compared with pure Cu2MgO3 improves the charge storage capability and betterment in the electrochemical activity. The excellent electrochemical performance of Cu2MgO3/PANI predicts its promising future for electrochemical energy storage applications.
