The findings of this study are as follows: Firstly, the scarcity of material, social, andfinancial resources induced feelings of helplessness and anxiety among consumers. Secondly, thesenegative psychological states were found to be associated with social isolation and hoarding behavior. Lastly, the influence of resource scarcity on psychological states varied depending on individuals'temporal focus.
