다문화 태도와 세계시민의식의 관계에서 문화 간 민감성의 매개효과: 의과대학생을 대상으로

This study aimed to examine the relationships among multicultural attitude, intercultural sensitivity, and global citizenship, and to test the mediating effect of intercultural sensitivity in the relationship between multicultural attitude and global citizenship. The participants were 659 medical students in Korea. Measures of multicultural attitude, intercultural sensitivity, and global citizenship were used, and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and PROCESS Macro Model 4. Female students scored significantly higher than male students on all three variables, whereas no significant differences were found according to academic year. The three variables were significantly and positively correlated. The mediation analysis showed that multicultural attitude was significantly and positively associated with intercultural sensitivity (B = .333, p < .001), and that both multicultural attitude (B = .551, p < .001) and intercultural sensitivity (B = .438, p < .001) were significantly and positively associated with global citizenship. The indirect effect through intercultural sensitivity was significant (B=.146, 95% bootstrap CI [.097, .204]), indicating partial mediation. These findings suggest that medical education should promote both positive attitudes toward cultural diversity and intercultural sensitivity to foster global citizenship among medical students.
