초록
This approach to structured reflection has the potential to foster better self-assessment and ongoing development in athletes, thereby positively influencing their sports performance and overall engagement in athletic activities. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study quantitatively measured and tracked changes in participants' reflection levels over time and qualitatively analyzed the content of journals kept over a 17-week period. This dual approach facilitated a comprehensive understanding of how reflective thinking develops and influences athletes' performance and experiences. The research aligns with established frameworks highlighting reflection as a self-regulatory skill crucial for developing sport-specific characteristics. The study assessed the level of reflection through participants' training diaries using an ABA design, which included a 2-week baseline (A), a 12-week treatment (B), and a 3-week retention (A) phase. The level of reflection gradually improved, although there were fluctuations attributed to competition participation during weeks 5 and 8. Systematic feedback on the diaries was instrumental in enhancing the athletes' reflective capacity. It was noted that a high level of reflection could be maintained temporarily without feedback during the retention phase. However, continuous feedback is crucial for sustained improvement and to prevent decline. The study identifies crucial elements of athletes' reflective practices. Analysis of training journals confirms met a cognitive reflection, highlighting content-level changes.
