This work delivers a cost-effective, spontaneous, mobile, and non-wearable point-of-care glucose monitoring system. The system relies on paper-based nanofibrous strips using polyvinyl alcohol, chitosan, and silver nanoparticles, which offer excellent enzyme-adsorbing properties. An eye-readable color variation was noticed on the enzyme adsorbed strip for the glucose concentration from 100 to 600 mu M, the same as the glucose concentration in human sweat. The prepared strip exhibited a wide linear range from 100 to 1000 mu M with an LOD value of 78.3 mu M and a high sensitivity value of 0.883 mM-1. The developed strips exhibit superior enzyme-like activity than the HRP enzyme. The developed strips are resistant to interference from metal ions, sugars, and variations in pH, ensuring accurate results. The color change of glucose added to artificial sweat is identical to the color change noticed in the same glucose concentration. This system overcomes the challenges of conventional wearable non-invasive sensors by enabling controlled sample collection in a stable environment. It is unaffected by skin issues or mechanical stresses, that can compromise accuracy and is also user-friendly. The practicality of the sensor was also examined for glucose sensing in real samples like human serum. This innovative approach leverages an enzyme-mimicking technique to create a simple, effective, and interferenceresistant glucose monitoring tool.
