초록

Performance degradation due to tolerance inevitably occurs in the design and fabrication process of optical products. Previous studies have analyzed the effect of tolerance from different perspectives; however, none have presented a consistent solution for compensating aberrations after performance degradation. Our proposed method quantitatively analyzes the aberration sensitivity based on tolerance by utilizing the ray fan slope and proposes a compensation method to restore performance through the proposed approach. We observed that the ray slope was canceled out, thus improving the performance of the Modulation Transfer Function when tolerance combinations with opposite slope signs and similar absolute values were applied simultaneously. Experiments with various optical systems have shown that a combination of compensation tolerances is effective for improving the balance of the Modulation Transfer Function. In addition, an automation program linked with Code V software was implemented to improve the efficiency of repetitive tolerance analysis tasks. Therefore, we propose a new tolerance analysis approach that can quantitatively and effectively compensate for the performance degradation that occurs during the production process after design.
